Everyone out there has come across an obvious affiliate link at some point in time. “RandomProfits.com/?referrer=JohnDoe”
The problem that most bloggers who make their money by affiliate sales is that if they leave the links in that format, the tech savvy readers most likely will remove the information after the ‘?refferrer’ in the URL, even if it only adds extra benefit to the affiliate marketer. It is a sad but true fact that a lot of affiliate marketers face, so for years marketers have been trying to find the best ways to mask the links. The most common way for bloggers to mask it is to use a hidden affiliate links Wordpress plugin, so that the link is hidden as “YourSite.com/Recommends/RandomProfits”. This has produced the best chances of someone actually registering through your affiliate link, but just yesterday I came across an even better way to mask your links.
I was reading digitalpoint forums when I came across someone who was purchasing signature links to increase exposure to his website “Widget-Bucks.com”. Later on (after I clicked the link), I realized that I was on WidgetBucks.com under his affiliate link. I believe grabbing your own domain name that relates to the actual product would yield the best results for people to mistakenly not notice your affiliate link. Another ninja way to mask your affiliate link would be to use similar domains or typos. (wwwWidgetbucks.com, Widgitbucks.com, WidgetBucksPro.com, WidgetBucksCoupon.com, etc). I have a feeling that this idea will be taking off very quickly and that we will see a lot of related domains popping up, so best of luck getting yours quickly!

Thanks for the free plugin….actually there are numerous softwares like link cloaker and so on that are pretty costly but this free plugin really rocks
I’m kind of allergic to affiliate links, but thanks for the tip. Will be hiding my own aff-links and hopefully fool at least some visitors.
[...] The BEST ways to hide your affiliate links [...]
Hi, I use a special free cloaking software to get rid of the ugly affliate links. So, my commissions will not be robbed and I can have my own URL as the affiliatelink, something like this: http://www.tlmarketing.net/recommends/XXXXXXX
It looks professional too.
