I am finally back in Minnesota after having been in Nebraska competing on the Top Affiliate Challenge. The last episode is online now, check it out at TopAffiliateChallenge.com.
The show itself had some ups and downs (after all, it was the first season and we were the guinea pigs), and there was a lot of internal problems with a few of the affiliate networks, but aside from that the networking was awesome. It was the first time that I have met any other blogger in person (John Chow and Shoemoney as well for that matter).
We partied, worked, and ultimately I learned a lot that I can take home. There were a lot of stuff that many of us didn’t agree with on the show, but opinions aside I had a ton of fun in the two weeks.
I ended up placing 5th out of the 12, with Devin and I losing the 3rd and 4th position by only $200. You can check out the episodes to see everything that happened (or at least what they filmed!).
I want to give out a bonus shoutout to the staff over at Market Leverage. I gave them a quick phone call asking for their help in return for a review on JohnChow.com (worth $500), and they provided my team (mostly me) with a $1000 budget to be used on my pay per click offers.
While I did not get to use the entire $1000 before getting eliminated on the show, I have since moved over my best performing campaign to my personal account (instead of the team accounts that go to the winner of the top affiliate challenge). In the last few days, my personal account is at $189 revenue, and I haven’t even started optimizing the campaign yet. My Market Leverage TEAM account (for use on the show) has over $1050, although that was with the help of my teammates. Market Leverage has been awesome in every way possible, and to top things off, they are sponsoring me with two flip videos cameras as well as a ton of USB drives in a blog contest that I will be launching tomorrow. If you want to try your hand at CPA marketing, or at least get your foot in the door, Market Leverage is the place to start. I highly recommend them.
Well… I have a ton of stuff to unpack, so I am off. Take care everyone, and get ready for a blog contest tomorrow!

welcome back. Sounds like an interesting time!
Hey dude. Ya it was fun being there but like you I am sure I was happy to get home.
Even though there was the problems the first week that pertty much killed any motovation the xy7.com team had I learned a crap load as well. It was a good trip over all and I think the friends we all made will last us a life time.
Welcome!!! At least you’ve enjoyed the show and learn something new
Collin, it was so great meeting you in person. Also I agree about market Leverage. I’ve got a bunch of their offers on my blogs now.
