Here are some great posts that I have recently read that are excellent website marketing strategies aimed at helping you make more money online. I like to showcase posts that are worth the time it takes to read them every week, so if you have an article, technique, or post that you would like showcased on the next weekly roundup, feel free to contact me (shameless self promotion allowed, just know that not every request will get approved).

Tips on Search Engine Optimization

  1. Longtail Sniper Guide — Carl Zetterlund, the runner-up at the Top Affiliate Challenge has an excellent guide that you should take a look at. Carl kicks some serious butt with these techniques, so go read his post and expand your brain before he comes to his senses and stops giving away his secrets! :-)
  2. Link building from Searchles — LBB has a quick post about a site that allows you to build some backlinks pretty quickly… its worth a look.
  3. More sales & backlinks through coupon directories — SEJ has a post that is very helpful for eCommerce websites as they are one of the hardest types of sites to optimize and promote, so if any of you run any online stores this post is for you.

Tips to Make Money Online

  1. Make Money Online by Writing Articles — A quick summary of this popular bum marketing technique that allows you to promote your content, sell your products, and ultimately make money online.

Tips to Increase Website Traffic

  1. Tuna Frappuccino — Alan has a great post that points out something that I see many people gloating about… “YAY MY WEBSITE IS #1 FOR [insert keyword],” but at the end of the day, if you aren’t receiving visitors/sales/subscribers, your time is completely wasted.

Pay Per Click

  1. You WILL LOSE money on PPC! This post hits the bullseye for those that are contemplating testing their luck with PPC. It seems easy in theory but many people (myself included) have lost a lot of money in PPC.
  2. Tyler Cruz is in the green. Congrats goes to him as he is one of the few bloggers who showed his (brutally honest) loss of money in PPC before making a comeback. PPC isn’t as easy as some people make it seem, there IS money to be made however, chances are just against you when you start out!

Fighting Comment Spam

  1. Shoemoney has two good posts about simple fixes to reduce comment spam on your blog. One is a minimum content requirement, and the other is using the Wordpress discussion filters.

Thats all for now. If you have a (good) article covering anything along the lines of these topics and want it featured on my next roundup post, give me a shout.
