Setting up a network of niche stores (also known as BANS, which is short for Build A Niche Store’s) that earn money off the eBay Affiliate Program has been something I have been wanting to do for awhile. The BANS software and the Pepperjam affiliate system have a wicked combination that allows you to earn money off the entire eBay.com inventory (the largest sales website on the web).
To keep a very long story short, you buy the BANS software (It is only $97), and you can setup unlimited stores that target niches on eBay, which has THOUSANDS of categories. With your niche store, you can easily search engine optimize it and earn a residual income from the traffic Google sends you for people searching for that niche. If you join Pepperjam, you will also earn money on anything that people who visit your site buy in the next 30 days on eBay. With eBay being the 18th most popular site on the web, you can imagine how many sales go through it that you could be cashing in on.
With that introduction aside, I just wanted to let you guys know that I have started setting up my first niche store on BANS. I choose to do it on the Super Nintendo Console, a classic gaming machine. While I could have made more money targeting a new generation machine, such as the XBox360, Playstation 3, or the Nintendo Wii, I choose the Super Nintendo because it has a low competition niche and the only people still searching for it have a high chance at buying something. One other main reason I chose to use the Super Nintendo as my first niche is because I recently bought my own. I had saved my Super Nintendo for 13 years, and the one time I wanted to bring it out to play it again I learned that I forgot to save the cords! I went out and bought my own Super Nintendo again from a store downtown, and thought that I bet a lot of people were missing their Super Nintendo AC Adapter cords as well. Turns out there were some people searching/buying them on eBay, but not enough to make any decent money with it. With that out of the way, I figured I would target the entire console itself and if my case study experiment goes well, I will be able to make some money every month from it.
With my writing, SEO, and link building talent, an empire of niche stores are potentially the perfect way to earn a residual income online. I am using my first store, Super Nintendo Console, as a case study to show you (as well as myself) how long it will take each store to setup, optimize, and rank for its niche keyword. I will most likely be writing a series about how you can setup your own niche store and earn profit from it in the smallest alloted time. I am going to be working on a step by step niche store creation guide that will be so easy to follow that even your grandma who can barely use an email client can make money online if hard work is put into effect.
However, I am not going to jump the gun and try to teach something before I have a case study of it being done myself, so this post is basically my public “day one” and I encourage you to follow my niche store journey.

might have to get a real cool design for your niche - and nice ass domain name! just check my name =P - or check your aff dashboard for the product =P
The eBay and Pepperjam cookies are exactly the same. Both have a 7 day cookie for purchases and a 30 day cookie for ACRUs.
Didn’t know that, thanks for letting me know!
[...] It nice to see someone start something online and I always wanted to know how they did it. Well, especially Colin LaHay from MixedMarketArts where he blog how and some introduction to BANS. [...]
well not really have made serious thoughts on bans yet
BANS is definitely one of the better affiliate tools available. Those looking for a free option can try phpbay. With BANS it is all about picking the right niche and optimizing your site for search engines. Good luck.
BANS is a great program… I love it… you can do some good stuff with it
you rank 2nd for that keyword…and it gets 22k searches per month from google. Congrats dude..
Dont you worry about the copyright issues??using Nintendo in the domain name.
thanks for sharing with such precious information
While I have read quite a few posts on BANS, I am interested to see what you make of BANS and the Ebay thing in general.
Wondering why you (a) chose Pepperjam over EPN, and (b) chose BANS over PhpBayPro. Not that they are bad choices - just interested in the reasoning.
Good luck with it - have been doing this with PBP for a couple of months now and it is going better than any of my aff experiments.
Cheers
J
yeah some serious stuff regarding bans.
