Make Money from Torrents - Scam Alert

I have received around 5 emails in the past telling me that they were sent to a website where I was used as a testimonial for an ebook about making money by uploading garbage to torrent websites.

I received one email a few days ago:

*** NAME REMOVED *** () wrote:
Hi, Collin

I just received an email (not sure if it’s just spam), about how to make
zillions of dollars just by uploading torrents and your name is in there.

Is it true, or I should just delete it?

For your help, thanks

and I emailed the guy back, and later the individual was kind enough to post a live URL so I could see exactly what it looked like… here it is:
http://www.0dayguru.com/t-riches/

I just want everyone to know that I DO NOT make money from torrents in any way, and that is just some scammer putting my name on his sales page because I am an 18 year old college student making a living online.

I recommend NOT buying this product as if someone is bad enough to fake testimonials, the product probably isn’t worth $20.

You should really have that server taken down and talk to an attorney about that guy stealing your name for his own purposes! Its pretty easy to have the server taken down under the DCMA rules, the ISP will usually act first ask questions later. People like this who cheat to make money make it harder for the rest of us because now no one trusts testimonials no matter if they’re real or not… Go get the bastard!!!!

Scammers are always scammers. I never trust ebooks anyway. Either they give you some piece of “useful information” that is too hard to convert into real business, or they ask you to resell the ebook for money… meaning more scams.

Collin, I think this might destroy your business image, so it’s recommended you report this to some authority sites. Perhaps personally request that scammer to remove “your” testimonial from his site might work. You shouldn’t put an active link over here because that might increase his page views.

I hate scammers and spammers…….maybe there is a way you could “Yelp” them or add them to a Ripoff Report???

I’m having this problem or similar with a now well known marketer.

I gave ONE testimonial for a product about THREE years ago. I have seen my testimonial on several other pages of his right up to a couple weeks ago.

Speaking of torrents, could you point me to where I can find clean info on exactly what they are/do?

Sorry that people are dragging your name into their scams. Did you contact them and ask them to remove your name?

thanks for the heads up… a lot of people think that they can fool people online… and it is funny because i see people get tricked into buying stuff all the time… Someone emailed me not so long ago telling me that someone scammed them out of thousands of dollars claiming they were going to send them millions.

dont believe everything you see on the internet.. only follow trusted websites

LOL, Julie…you say you hate spammers, but you seem to be the spammer here. You have two back-to-back one liner comments that are adding zero value to this blog.
