If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or get your blog updates by email. Thanks for visiting!
Looks like Google got around to updating their pagerank again, and my blog’s pagerank has increased from a 4 to a 5 which is pretty cool considering the gap from getting a 4 to a 5 is a heck of a lot larger than having a pagerank of 2 and moving it up to a 3.

As of late, I have been finding ways to build links with Yahoo Answers clones, and I have found another one that provides dofollow anchor text backlinks. The site is called Blurtit. Since the site is basically the same as link building with Yedda, I don’t believe I need to add any step by step instructions. Answer a question, include your link, and then repeat!
For the visual learners, here is my example link.
This is part 29 of my series called the link building cookbook that aims to be the ultimate untapped link building resource on the web.

Yedda is another site that lets users ask questions about any topic they like. Other users of the site then answer the question and the best answer is voted on by the community.
With a little planning, you can get automated emails for when a question is asked that relates to your keywords, and then you can answer the question and build links from it.
For example, I subscribed to the keyword ‘online dating’, and received an email with someone asking “how do I get a girlfriend,” through which I answered, “try joining a free online dating service” and linked that to Datepad.com. (Source)

Gather is a place where you can share the things that are important to you with tons of different people. Boring right?
If I were to write my OWN description of what Gather is, here is how I would describe it:
Gather is an extremely popular site with over 700,000 pages indexed in Google. It has an incredible amount of pagerank, authority, and trust. Google crawls the site daily because it is filled with so much content. Gather allows internet marketers and link builders like ourselves to write up quick articles and plug a few backlinks in them.

Unasked is a service that is much like Yahoo Answers. Users of the site ask a question, and the other users of the site do their best to answer them. The more correct answers you give, the higher your “ranking” is on the website.
While you can post links when you answer your questions, they are 100% nofollow (just like Yahoo Answers), thus making answering questions useless for linking purposes. However, every question you answer links to your profile where you can set your own homepage with a dofollow anchor text link. If you want to build one more link to your site, sign up at Unasked.com and then answer a question or two so that your profile page will get indexed quickly, and enjoy the extra unique backlink.

While I do realize that a lot of you may have already heard of Squidoo, I still wanted to make a post about it to let the users who haven’t heard about it get a chance at using it, as well as being able to use this post as a reference in future link building posts.
Squidoo is a huge community powered site that allows users to write about topics they are “experts” in. In return for writing these articles (they call them lens’), Squidoo shares half of the advertising revenue with you and also gives you anchor text backlinks inside your articles.

This post is a little satirical, please do not use it as solid advice. It is more of an accidental case study that happened to me and I wanted to share it with my readers.
Back on March 15th, I made a simple one paragraph post mentioning that I bought an iPhone. For those of you who didn’t know, the iPhone was one of 2007’s most hyped online product launches, and nearly every technology blog in the world was keeping tabs on iPhone news. This also means that since it was being searched for a lot, there were a lot of blackhat search engine spammers trying to steal their piece of the pie by their use of content theft. They scrape blogs around the world that mention the word iPhone and then post a piece of that blog post on their blog hoping it will rank for long-tail keywords.

I have recently discovered an untapped pagerank 7 blog that has an authority status in Google. The blog is extremely popular and comments inside the blog posts receive a backlink that is followed by the search engines. Every single blog post turns into a PR5 or PR6 link after the next update, and there are over 500 PR5+6 links already indexed by Google.
