Ning is a website that allows anyone to create their own social network for whatever they feel like, whether that be a social network about dancing all the way to a social network about link building strategies.
There is tons of link building potential with Ning.com, and so I figured I would give everyone a quick guide to some of the fastest ways to build useful links with the site.
Link Building Strategy #1
Sign up for a free social network related to your niche. For example, I own the linkbuildingstrategies.ning.com social network and it features my RSS feed with dofollow links

YouBundle is a web2.0 site often compared to Squidoo, however it has a different purpose. YouBundle allows anyone to sign up for a free profile and create a bunch of links that relate to a specific topic. For example, I could make a topic about a few different link building blogs that I know of (I used 3 since thats all that is required and I was doing it quickly), and people who visit this page could suggest more related link building blogs to add to the page.

I had used Qassia a long time ago, back when it had just launched into a private invite-only beta, and didn’t really think much of it because it had zero authority and pagerank.
Well, it is now many months later and my friends post about Qassia reminded me about it and that is well out of beta and is now completely open to everyone. Qassia now has a strong PR5 homepage as well.
Qassia dubs itself as an intelligence engine, but really it is pretty close to just a repository for user submitted articles. Like Squidoo, you can write about any topic you like, and with that, you can build links to your website.

Tumblr is a free blogging platform that takes about 5 seconds to setup. You enter your email, a password, and your subdomain, and your blog is instantly created. You can then build links to your new Tumblr blog and write content with anchor dofollow links back to your site.
I have a live Tumblr blog example for my Super Nintendo Console case study. You can see my Tumblr blog at super-nintendo-console.tumblr.com.

I have been running this blog for nearly a year now, and over that time I have had literally hundreds of emails asking about link building or search engine optimization related questions, and many of them keep coming up over and over again.
With that being said, I feel rather than answering them over and over to each specific email, I would take the most common questions I get asked about link building and try to answer as many link building questions ask I can.

PBWiki is a free website that allows you to create your own wiki about anything you want. It is like being able to create your own niche clone of wikipedia. You control all of the content on the pages, and you can build in-content links. I originally found this method of link building when my twitter marketing page had an anchor text backlink from a PR5 page.
If you are smart, you could make blog posts around related PBWiki niches that have high pagerank, and include a deep link to the page/blog post you wrote about, much like how my twitter blog post is linked from a high pagerank twitter pbwiki.

A very powerful link building technique that few people talk about is buying existing websites/domains and then redirecting them to your own website. There is a thing called a “301 redirect” which tells the search engines that your website has moved domains permanently, and it forwards all of your ranking and backlinks to the new domain. A perfect example of this is the 301 redirect I setup to send mixedmarketarts.com to CollinLaHay.com.
All of my rankings will eventually transfer over to the new domain, and mixedmarketarts.com will rank no more.

The mammoth shopping site eBay.com needs no introduction. Being one of the top 20 most popular websites of all time, millions of dollars worth of auctions go through it every year. Today’s post is not about how you can earn a part of that money through software like BANS, which I will leave for another day, but rather how you can utilize this massive authority site to bring your measly little website more search engine traffic.
Sure, you could create an ebay auction trying to sell something, and secretly put a link to your website in the thread, but a few months after the auction ends, when your thread finally receives some decent pagerank, the thread would expire.
